Death Stranding Cyberpunk 2077 free DLC released on PC - Polygon

Kojima Productions is celebrating the release of Cyberpunk 2077 in its own game, Death Stranding, with free content and an all-new hacking mechanic inspired by CD Projekt Red’s open-world action game. That new content is available now in the Windows PC version of Death Stranding through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Death Stranding’s surprise new DLC includes cosmetic items, like a Cyberpunk 2077-inspired (Akira-inspired) Reverse Trike vehicle, a new arm for Sam Bridges that’s modeled after Johnny Silverhand’s robotic arm, “several fashion items” including Johnny’s sunglasses, and new holograms. You can see those cosmetic items in the trailer above.

Seen below is Death Stranding’s new hacking function. Sam can use it in combat to target enemy machines, and players will now have “the ability to stop Mule sensor poles from activating for a limited time, stun enemy Odradeks and hack Mule trucks to stop them in their tracks,” Kojima Productions said in an update on Death Stranding’s Steam page.

Thursday’s update for Death Stranding also includes “six new missions featuring characters and lore from Cyberpunk 2077,” Kojima Productions said.

Kojima Productions did not announce availability of Death Stranding’s Cyberpunk 2077 content for the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

Death Stranding is currently on sale for 50% off at Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Kojima Productions released the Windows PC version of Death Stranding in July, following the game’s November 2019 release on PlayStation 4. CD Projekt Red released Cyberpunk 2077 on Dec. 10 for PlayStation 4, Stadia, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
